A formal motion tabled by Grimm in the Frankfurt Parliament to wage war against Denmark in order to bring Schleswig-Holstein into Germany. The motion is supported by a somewhat rambling resumé of Grimm’s cultural geopolitics, proving that ancient ethnic settlement patterns give Germany an inalienable right to Schleswig, Holstein and perhaps all of Jutland; those points were argued more extensively in Grimm’s Geschichte der deutschen Sprache, which appeared in the same year.
